The Philippine Bible Society partnered with CBCP, PCEC, NCCP and other independent churches to start the Youth Explode Series held last November 29, 2008, Saturday. I got to take pictures of Y! Explode and also listen to the message by Pastor Ed Lapiz on the Bible and the youth.

Y! Explode kicked off with a Bible March from two assembly points (Baywalk and Derham Park in Pasay) and then converged at the Bulwagan ng Panginoon in CCP Complex. Youth representatives from different Christian organizations joined the Bible March and assembled with the marching band of Philippine Air Force and the Philippine Army, biker groups, ati-atihan and the police escorts provided by the Pasay City government.
Youth delegates were warmly welcomed and given souvenir kits (2009 calendar, materials, etc.) for the event. Pastor Henry Santos and his team ushered everyone to a time of praise and worship singing. Bishop Cesar Punzalan led the opening prayer and asked the Lord for the success of the Y! Explode series.

Day By Day’s Pastor Ed Lapiz gave a very illuminating message on the Youth, the Bible and the Philippines. His message reminded the Church authorities, as well as Christian organizations’ leadership, about the essence of sharing the Word of God. He also encouraged the Filipino youth that God’s Word is the story of the youth, citing several young people who were used by God.
To dedicate the Gospel of Mark – Pinoy Version, Bishop Nathanael Lazaro shared a youthful prayer to entrust the efficiency of this translation to speak and minister to the Y Generation

Pastor LA Mumar was welcomed on stage to enlighten the participants about the role of God’s Word in the lives of young people and their role in church. Minutes later, I had to leave for another appointment. Later, Bro. Bo Sanchez gave a message on commitment and the country’s top musical artists – Jungee Marcelo, Kitchie Nadal and many others – performed for the young people.
Basically, it was a great and complete treat for the Filipino youth which just shows how deeply committed PBS is in reaching out not only to adults but to the country’s youth as well.
